More than a ‘Brief Encounter’ with Flying Scotsman

Flying Scotsman to head nostalgic steam holiday to The Lake District – limited spaces still available

18 – 21 June 2018

On Monday 18 June, Flying Scotsman will pull out of London Victoria and will haul the first leg of a four day trip to The Lake District.  Passengers will stay in the beautiful Lake District national park for three nights in a choice of fabulous hotels, all located on the edge of Lake Windermere.

Day 1 – Monday 18 June

The Lakes Express will depart from London Victoria on Monday 18 June behind Flying Scotsman. It will be a spectacular journey as this magnificent engine follows the West Coast main line, stopping at Milton Keynes and Rugby on an express path to Carnforth, the filming location for the romantic classic, Brief Encounter. From here, passengers who have booked hotels with Steam Dreams will be transferred to Lake Windermere, where they will stay for three nights.

Marcus Robertson, Chairman of Steam Dreams said; “We witnessed an extraordinary level of excitement as Flying Scotsman returned to the tracks, so we were not surprised that our 2017 day trips sold out quickly. We appreciate there are still many disappointed people, who haven’t managed to get tickets, so are thrilled that we’ve been able to arrange for Flying Scotsman to feature in our four day Holiday by Steam to the Lakes.” He added; “To begin the journey, travelling behind steam’s greatest celebrity will certainly add a very special and memorable dimension to this trip.”

Tickets for The Lakes Express with Flying Scotsman on 18-21 June are available in four different classes, ranging from Premium Standard at £349 per person, right up to Pullman Style Dining at £749 per person. Prices exclude accommodation, which can also be arranged by Steam Dreams.
